Supplement
Brand UGC

About This Playbook
The brief: an established supplement brand selling a greens powder and a magnesium blend on its own site and on TikTok Shop. Its paid social creative is tired and costs more to run each month. The goal is a library of ad-ready UGC from people who actually take the products, plus creators who sell through TikTok Shop.
In this example, the brand has run ads for two years but has almost no creator content. It works with Baseamp on a ten-week program: UGC for paid ads in the first half, then affiliate creators posting to TikTok Shop with commissions tracked per creator.
Challenge
Supplement content draws platform review, and creators who are new to the category often say things the brand cannot legally say. A creator calling a product a cure for anything gets the post pulled and puts the brand's ad account at risk. Generic UGC is the other trap: viewers have seen the same kitchen-counter unboxing a hundred times.
The brand also needs to know which hooks and creators actually sell, not which videos got likes. That means testing several hooks per creator, keeping usage rights for paid ads, and tracking TikTok Shop sales back to each creator who posted.
Strategy
Creator Mix: 10 UGC Creators and 15 Affiliates
We would book 10 UGC creators who already take supplements as part of their routine, chosen for on-camera delivery rather than follower count. Alongside them, 15 nutrition and fitness creators with active TikTok Shop showcases would sell the products on commission.
UGC formats: morning routine clips, honest first-week diaries, label walkthroughs that read the ingredients aloud, and side-by-side comparisons with what the creator used before. Each UGC creator films 3 hooks per video so the brand can test openings in paid ads. Affiliates post short demos and live sessions with Shop links.
